

A Motor Soft Start is a product which is made to completely control all kinds of mechanical and electrical problems occurring when an AC motor starts up.
When a motor starts initially, more than 600% of inrush current is generated, the belt slip and the gear box can be damaged and the piping can be damaged by water hammer or when the conveyor stops to be operated, it can be oscillated seriously and the insulation of a motor can be damaged. Due to such problems mentioned above, the production line can stop resulting into the deterioration of the productivity and needs some maintenance.
A motor soft start made by Power Com is the best product that can control the motor smoothly by controlling the starting torque and the inrush current of a motor and can solve the electrical and mechanical problems when a motor starts or stops.

Power Com Soft Start (Comparison of Motor Starting Methods)
: It is a starting method which makes the motor and the mechanical equipment hard to be operated due to the instantaneous inrush current that is generated when a motor starts up.

Since some big current is generated 5 to 8 times as big as the rated current when a motor starts, some problems such as damages to the product and destruction of the motor insulation can occur.

Since some instantaneous transient current is generated when a motor is switched to the operation mode after it is started, the lifespan of MC (Magnetic Contactor) can be shortened and the product can be damaged.
: : It is a starting method which does not make a motor or a load hard to be operated by using the starting method as follows.

SOFT SATRAT (0.1sec ~ 99.9sec)
It makes the motor started smoothly by supplying with some voltage slowly from some low voltage appropriate for the motor starting torque to some low voltage at which the biggest torque occurs.

KICK START (0.1sec ~ 3.0sec)
It is a function to be applied for starting a load which needs some starting torque bigger than the static torque like a mixer or a crusher needing a high viscosity.

SOFT STOP (0.1sec ~ 99.9sec)
It prevents any conveyed objects from falling or a conveyor from shaking by stopping a motor smoothly. Since the check valve is closed slowly when stopping the pump is controlled, the water hammer problem is solved.

SLOW SATRAT (0.1sec ~ 99.9sec)It is applied to operate a big column shaped load spending a long time for generating the biggest RPM like a dehydrator or a blower.

CURRENT LIMITIt is applied for starting the motor while limiting the starting current.

SLOW STOP (0.1sec ~ 99.9sec)It is applied to a situation where it is necessary to stop a motor at a regular speed due to the traits of the motor.
